Lloyds Doubles AI Revenue Target to £100M, Plans Customer-Facing Agents This Year
Lloyds Banking Group revised its internal AI growth target upward from £50 million to over £100 million, disclosed in its February 2026 annual report. The bank plans to deploy agentic AI solutions this year—autonomous agents that take multi-step actions rather than simply output data. The ambition extends to in-app agents designed to bridge the UK's advice gap: serving retail customers priced out of regulated financial advice. Execution carries regulatory risk; the FCA's Consumer Duty requires firms to demonstrate good outcomes when humans aren't in the decision loop.
