Artificial intelligence topped the U.N. General Assembly agenda for the first time in the week of September 21, 2026. Secretary-General António Guterres warned September 16, 2026 that rapidly advancing AI poses risks that cannot be ignored. High-level Week will include AI governance alongside climate, health, peace and security. I see the test as whether attention produces follow-up mechanisms.
