Liberal Democrat MP arrested on suspicion of assault and coercive control

Cameron Thomas, the Liberal Democrat MP for Tewkesbury, was arrested on suspicion of assault and controlling and coercive behaviour on Wednesday night and released on police bail. The party suspended his whip, removing him from the parliamentary group but keeping him as an elected MP. Thomas remains presumed innocent.
