Victorian Labor promises manslaughter offence for family violence-linked suicides

Victorian Labor Premier Ben Carroll has promised a new manslaughter offence covering cases where family violence leads a person to take their own life if re-elected. Labor describes it as Australian-first, aimed at closing loopholes where sustained coercion precedes suicide. The proposal would require new legislation.
