Philips Hue Adds Hardwired Switches to Eliminate Battery Maintenance

Philips Hue announced a Wired Wall Switch Module, available in Europe from June 2026, that draws mains power rather than relying on batteries. The Zigbee-connected module keeps bulbs powered and routable through the ecosystem, sidestepping the classic smart-bulb failure mode where a user cutting the physical switch also cuts the bulb's radio. Single and two-pack configurations target multi-room and commercial deployments where battery swaps have been a recurring friction point.
