Indonesia Takes Delivery of First Aircraft Carrier

Indonesia received its first aircraft carrier in September 2026. The former Italian vessel Giuseppe Garibaldi docked at Tanjung Priok in North Jakarta after sailing from Italy via Colombo and the Malacca Strait. Commissioned in 1985 and retired in 2014, the 180-metre ship can carry 18 helicopters and 830 personnel.
