British Steel Costs £1.3m a Day, Could Hit £1.5bn by 2028, MPs Warn

The Public Accounts Committee says keeping British Steel in public ownership costs £1.3m daily and could reach £1.5bn by 2028. Nationalised in July after intervention to save Scunthorpe and 4,000 jobs, ministers have no sustainable business model, the MPs say. They want a published plan on costs, funding and decarbonisation.
