Apple Watch Series 12 measures heart rate every five seconds at rest and during activities, up from once every five minutes on prior models. The increase comes from a redesigned sensor array and S11 chip. In testing, it stayed within five beats per minute of a Polar H10 chest strap during runs, a walk and at rest.
