National Park Service Backs Private Fair With Federal Institutional Blessing
The Great American State Fair, a privately organized 16-day exposition opening June 25 on the National Mall, is formally embedded in the National Park Service's official USA 250th anniversary programming. That designation typically goes to government-sponsored events. It grants Freedom 250, the fair's organizer, federal coordination resources and audience reach that privately leased Mall space would not ordinarily carry. Congress appropriation status remains unconfirmed.
