National Park Service Backs Private Fair With Federal Institutional Blessing

The Great American State Fair, a privately organized 16-day exposition opening June 25 on the National Mall, is formally embedded in the National Park Service's official USA 250th anniversary programming. It grants Freedom 250, the fair's organizer, federal coordination resources and audience reach that privately leased Mall space would not ordinarily carry. Congress appropriation status remains unconfirmed.
