Vance Dismisses Global AI Regulation, Tells Labs to Stop Risky Builds

US Vice President JD Vance dismissed calls for global AI safety regulation at a Los Angeles AI summit. Directed at Anthropic co-founder Dario Amodei, he said: "If you're building Frankenstein, stop" and "If you're gonna create Frankenstein, don't come to the government and say we need regulation." Amodei had urged US-China coordination on controls.
