UK Considers Giving Mayors Power Over Water Company Spending

The UK government is considering giving elected mayors and local leaders oversight of water companies through nine regional bodies responsible for planning and holding firms to account. The bodies could direct some spending and question bosses on bills and sewage. The idea, recommended in the Cunliffe review, has no firm decision yet.
