Labour says only 54 extra nurses hired in two years

Labour deputy leader Carmel Sepuloni says only 54 extra nurses were hired from March 2024 to March 2026, challenging National's claim of thousands of new nurses. National deputy leader Nicola Willis credited National with 2,100 more nurses between September 2023 and March 2024 on RNZ Morning Report. Labour says it hired those nurses while in government.
