CME Group names Fitzpatrick as next CEO; Duffy steps down in March 2027

Lynne Fitzpatrick will replace Terry Duffy as Chief Executive of CME Group in March 2027. Duffy, who led the world's largest derivatives exchange through two decades of consolidation, will move to Executive Chairman. Fitzpatrick currently serves as President and CFO. The transition closes a succession plan quietly launched in November 2024, when CME extended Duffy's contract only through year-end 2026 and elevated Fitzpatrick to dual CFO-President duties.
