Thirlwall Inquiry Expected to Find Hospital Failed on Patient Safety

The Thirlwall inquiry findings were set for publication early in the afternoon on 15 September 2026. Established to examine how nurse Lucy Letby murdered babies in 2015-2016 at Countess of Chester Hospital's neonatal unit, it was expected to find the hospital failed to ensure patient safety. Letby was convicted of murdering seven babies and attempting to murder seven more.
