
EU rights groups urge Brussels to press Carney on Bill C-22 in digital trade talks
European Digital Rights, Access Now and other groups wrote to European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and MEPs urging the EU to raise Bill C-22 in digital trade talks. The lawful-access bill would require telecoms and platforms to build police surveillance capabilities. Carney was set to visit Europe and address the European Parliament in Strasbourg.
