Google to start AI age checks for Canadian users

Google will gradually roll out AI age estimation in Canada in the coming days, the company says. The model assesses existing account signals, including search queries and YouTube viewing, to identify users under 18. Those accounts face added protections on content recommendations. Adults misidentified can verify age with government ID or a selfie.
