Tiffany, Pilot Swam to Safety After Emergency Landing on Lake Wausau

Rep. Tom Tiffany and pilot Leonard Boltz escaped their single-engine plane as it submerged in Lake Wausau Saturday evening after losing power near Wausau Downtown Airport. They called 911 from atop the aircraft, swam to shallow water and waited about 20 minutes before a fire department airboat reached them.
