Labour pledges Israel sanctions and Palestine recognition, calls government stance 'an embarrassment'

Labour leader Chris Hipkins says a future Labour government would join sanctions against Israel alongside the UK, Canada and France, and formally recognise Palestine. He called the coalition's position on Gaza "an embarrassment to the country" and said New Zealand is "missing in action." Foreign Minister Winston Peters says New Zealand has not traditionally used trade measures for foreign policy.
