Blanche d'Alpuget, Bob Hawke's widow and biographer, dies at 82

Blanche d'Alpuget, novelist, biographer and widow of former prime minister Bob Hawke, has died aged 82. Her family shared her final words with the ABC: "Our highest calling and greatest achievement is love, the rule of life. Love one another." Her prize-winning Hawke biography preceded their 2006 marriage. She is survived by son Louis Pratt and three Hawke step-children.
