Trinket Coding Platform Shuts Down in August, Erasing Teacher Assignments and Student Projects
Trinket, the browser-based IDE widely adopted in K–12 computer science classrooms, will cease operations in early August 2026. After that date, trinket.io goes dark entirely—no access to saved projects, assignments, or student work. The closure affects educators and students relying on the platform's zero-friction Python and HTML execution. Teachers have roughly seven weeks to export or migrate years of accumulated coursework before the deadline. Pickcode is working with Trinket's team to facilitate transitions, though the practical migration burden falls primarily on under-resourced educators.
