Over 10,000 protest NZ First's gender definition bill across five cities
Organisers of the 'Defy Definition' protests estimated more than 10,000 people marched across five New Zealand cities on 14 June against NZ First's member's bill to define 'woman' and 'man' biologically in statute. The bill, before a select committee accepting public submissions, would define these terms across all New Zealand legislation. Protest organisers said the bill erases transgender people from legal recognition and vowed to continue campaigning against it.
