NDIS savings plan could lock people out of funded care
From 1 December, NDIS participants will have 90 days instead of two years to claim funded supports. The tighter deadline is designed to slow cost growth, but it could achieve savings by preventing legitimate supports from being claimed rather than reducing plan costs. If participants miss the window, their funded services go unclaimed—the scheme pays less, but the rationale of funding reasonable and necessary supports fractures.
