'Camp Miasma' massacre scene stabs on every 'Hollywood' in Counting Crows' 'A Long December'

Variety reports (9 August 2026) that Jane Schoenbrun's slasher "Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma" stages a single-take camp massacre set to Counting Crows' 1996 song "A Long December." Each time the lyrics hit the word "Hollywood," a knife comes down. The sequence merges three locations via hidden cuts and took over 100 hours of storyboarding by cinematographer Eric Yue.
