ECB suspected father's email was a scam before clearing Caleb Falconer for Hundred auction

Middlesex all-rounder Caleb Falconer had no agent and had not played professionally when his father Stuart emailed the ECB to enter him in The Hundred auction. Officials suspected a phishing hoax and spent hours on identity checks before clearing him. Two franchises then bid, with Southern Brave signing him for £55,000.
