Alia Shawkat was "literally not allowed to speak" on The Runaways set

Alia Shawkat said she was "literally not allowed to speak" while filming the 2010 biopic The Runaways, a legal restriction she learned on her first day of shooting. Shawkat played a fictionalised stand-in for bassist Jackie Fox. She and co-star Kristen Stewart recalled they "were children" on set. The remarks came at a Q&A for their new Neon film The Wrong Girls, Deadline reported.
