World No 1 Jannik Sinner withdrew from the Cincinnati Open on 9 August, citing a right knee injury. He also missed Montreal. World No 2 Carlos Alcaraz pulled out of Cincinnati with a wrist injury; Novak Djokovic withdrew from Montreal. The US Open starts in New York on 30 August. Sinner gave no recovery timeline.
