McNeil-Johnson swap could see both face old clubs on opening day

Everton and Crystal Palace are in talks to swap Dwight McNeil for Brennan Johnson this week, per BBC Sport. The clubs meet on Saturday 22 August, opening weekend — so both players could debut against the side they just left. McNeil nearly joined Palace in February before paperwork collapsed on deadline day. Johnson has not scored in 26 Palace appearances.
