Pakistani documentary 'As Light as Air' secures Busan selection before Locarno premiere

Umair Bilal's debut feature documentary 'As Light as Air,' a 65-minute portrait of Sufi trance rituals in Sehwan, Pakistan, has been selected for the 2026 Busan International Film Festival (Dawn, 21 July 2026). The Pakistani production premieres 11 August in the Semaine de la Critique at the 79th Locarno Film Festival (Variety, 9 August 2026), giving it two major festival berths before its first public screening.
