Super League winger Tommy Makinson announces retirement at season's end

Former England wing Tommy Makinson, 34, has announced he will retire from rugby league at the end of this season. Makinson won five Super League Grand Finals and a Challenge Cup across 13 seasons at St Helens before joining Catalans Dragons. His final appearance is set for 11 September against hometown club Wigan Warriors, after Catalans' play-off hopes ended with a 42-20 defeat at Huddersfield.
