AFL's first women's and men's double-header draws 18,000 to Marvel Stadium

Carlton beat St Kilda 9.12 (66) to 6.4 (40) in the 2026 AFLW season opener at Marvel Stadium on 9 August — the first women's and men's double-header the AFL has staged. The crowd pushed 18,000 by the final quarter. It was also the first AFLW regular-season game at the Docklands venue. Four double-headers are scheduled across 2026.
