Carlton opens AFLW season with 26-point win in first AFLW–AFL double-header

Carlton beat St Kilda 9.12 (66) to 6.4 (40) in the 2026 AFLW season opener at Docklands Stadium, 9 August, before 20,455 fans — the first-ever AFLW and AFL double-header. The Blues led by 33 at half-time and held off a fourth-quarter Saints surge, with Darcy Vescio sealing it late. One of five double-headers scheduled this season.
