Edinburgh, Holland and Avignon festivals mount first-ever co-production

The Edinburgh International Festival, Holland Festival and Festival d'Avignon — three of Europe's oldest arts festivals — have co-produced a play for the first time. 'A Trial — after An Enemy of the People,' directed by Christiane Jatahy and starring Golden Globe winner Wagner Moura, runs at EIF from 7 to 10 August 2026. The collaboration begins the three festivals' planned 80th-anniversary celebrations in 2027.
