Dwayne Johnson told People the live-action Moana's negative reviews — 32% on Rotten Tomatoes — are "just the way it goes." What "really mattered," he said, was that "the culture really stood up" for the Polynesian-inspired tale. The film has grossed $266 million worldwide since its July 10 release, a figure IGN characterised as a bomb for a Disney remake. Disney CEO Josh D'Amaro told shareholders the film is "expected to be a strong title on Disney+."
