Amazon MGM Studios dropped Luca Guadagnino's "Artificial" in June 2026, months after Amazon entered a $50 billion investment partnership with OpenAI. The film dramatises OpenAI's 2023 leadership upheaval, with Andrew Garfield as Sam Altman. Indie distributor Neon later acquired it. Garfield told The Hollywood Reporter he is grateful Amazon helped the film find its new home.
