Sturgeon: Murrell Hid Plea Deal for Months, Lied Until the End

Nicola Sturgeon told an Edinburgh Fringe audience on August 8 that Peter Murrell negotiated his guilty plea to embezzling over £400,000 from the SNP for months without telling her. She learned of the plea one week before court and only discovered what he bought with party funds during the hearing. He lied to her "right up until" he pleaded guilty, she said.
