Johnson: $500,000 Grand Slam Track payment was athlete expense reimbursement, not self-enrichment

Johnson told The Telegraph (8 August 2026) he charged flights and hotels for 96 athletes plus companions to his personal card when the company card hit its limit. The $500,000 creditors called "secret" reimbursement, not profit. He also loaned the league $2m and forwent his salary. Grand Slam Track collapsed in December 2025 with debts over $30m.
