AFL issues Geelong 'please explain' over secret Kolodjashnij concussion waiver
The AFL sent Geelong a 'please explain' notice over a secret 2024 deal where defender Jake Kolodjashnij, 30, took legal responsibility for future brain trauma, shielding the club from court action. CEO Steve Hocking, who signed off on the deal, admitted Geelong failed to register it with the AFL or AFLPA — a 'misstep.' The AFLPA said such a waiver 'shouldn't exist.' The waiver is now removed.
