Jake T. Austin says he was excluded from Wizards Beyond Waverly Place; producer David Henrie says otherwise

Jake T. Austin, the only Russo sibling not to reprise his role in Wizards Beyond Waverly Place, said on Instagram on 7 August 2026 he was "disappointed" producers "decided to take [the sequel] in a different direction." Producer David Henrie told TVLine: "We tried to get him." Neither has clarified what form an offer took or why it failed.
