
Sarajevo Film Festival launches Béla Tarr tribute following January death
Hungarian director Béla Tarr, known for 'Sátántangó' and 'The Turin Horse,' died on 6 January 2026 in Budapest at 70, per The Guardian. The Sarajevo Film Festival has launched the 'Béla Tarr in Sarajevo Tribute' programme, showcasing six films by former students of his Film Factory doctoral school, founded in 2013, Variety reports. Film at Lincoln Center held its own tribute series 27 March–2 April 2026.
