Oslo Museum Attributes Overlooked Still Life to Flemish Painter Clara Peeters

A curator at the National Museum in Oslo has formally attributed "Still Life with small game and grapes on a gilded tazza," dated ca. 1620, to Clara Peeters, one of the few women who worked as a professional painter in early 17th-century Antwerp. The painting, catalogued NG.M.00158, had sat under an assumed attribution. The museum will present it in its "W̶o̶m̶a̶n̶ Painter" exhibition, running 8 October 2026 to 7 February 2027.
