Bhutan's ten-year-old Dragon Prince opens exhibition honouring his grandfather's legacy
Prince Jigme Namgyel Wangchuck, aged ten — known as the Dragon Prince — opened "The Visionary Monarch: A Tribute to the Fourth King's Enduring Legacy" at the Royal Textile Academy in Thimphu on 2 June 2026. The exhibition honours King Jigme Singye Wangchuck, the Fourth Druk Gyalpo, who abdicated in 2006 to transition Bhutan from absolute to constitutional monarchy. The Prince is heir apparent in the Wangchuck dynasty, which has ruled Bhutan since 1907.
