Sony to Reopen Hollywood's Cinerama Dome by Early 2028, Operating Theatres Through Alamo Drafthouse

Sony will restore and reopen Hollywood's Cinerama Dome, dark since 2020, targeting early 2028, the studio announced on 7 August 2026. Sony-owned Alamo Drafthouse will operate both the Dome and the former ArcLight Hollywood site next door. A studio running the theatres that exhibit its films is a structural shift in exhibition. Kristen Stewart told THR: "It took Sony to do it."
