Jean Lodge, star of the 1954 film The Black Knight, died on 5 August 2026 at 99, one day after her birthday, her granddaughter Amy Shaughnessy announced on Facebook (Deadline, 7 Aug 2026). Lodge's family spans decades of entertainment: husband Alfred Shaughnessy chief-wrote Upstairs, Downstairs; sons Charles (The Nanny, Days of Our Lives) and David (Big Hero 6, soap directing) built US television careers.
