Flintoff steps down as England Lions head coach to focus on Sydney Thunder role
Andrew Flintoff has stepped down as England Lions head coach after less than two years in charge. The 48-year-old, appointed in September 2024, had planned to juggle the Lions role with his new Sydney Thunder job in the Big Bash League but has now vacated it entirely. His final assignment was May–June's South Africa A tour, where the Lions lost both four-day matches.
