England opener Emilio Gay retired hurt on eight during Durham's One-Day Cup match against Middlesex on 7 August after feeling his right shoulder following an on-drive for four. Durham said he will be assessed over the weekend. Gay, named in England's 16-man squad, faces doubt for the Pakistan Test series starting at Headingley on 19 August.
