Libro.fm to add ebooks, giving indie bookstores a digital format they could not sell

Libro.fm, the audiobook platform that shares revenue with independent bookstores, announced on August 7, 2026 that it will add ebooks to its app. Independent bookshops will be able to sell ebooks through the app — a format long dominated by Amazon, Apple and Kobo. No launch date was set. Libro.fm said only that ebooks are "coming soon."
