Southampton expelled from Championship play-offs as FA charges coach Eckert over Spygate

Southampton's 2025-26 season ended in chaos after the club was expelled from the Championship play-offs over allegations that a junior analyst intern secretly gathered information on an opponent. Head coach Tonda Eckert was charged with misconduct by the FA on 22 July. Eckert has apologised for orchestrating the spying. Owner Dragan Solak has refused to sack him.
