Berlinale winner Gabriel Mascaro and producer Paula Cosenza launch Trema in Recife with nine-project slate

Gabriel Mascaro, director of the 2025 Berlinale Grand Jury Prize winner "The Blue Trail," and producer Paula Cosenza have launched Trema, a production company headquartered in Recife, Brazil, Variety reported on 7 August 2026. Trema opens with nine film and television projects in development, including co-productions with partners in Spain, Chile, Mexico, France and Disney's BVI. Cosenza is set to present the slate at Locarno.
