AFL chair Drummond was Geelong president when secret concussion waiver was struck

Craig Drummond, now AFL Commission chair, was Geelong's board president when the club had a player sign a secret 2024 waiver shifting brain-trauma liability onto the player. The AFL's clearing statement did not mention Drummond. He declined to front the media, issuing a three-line statement calling concussion a "challenging medical and legal issue for all contact sports globally." A concussion class action against the AFL goes to trial in 2027.
