Cuban American indie '1972' has wrapped production in Los Angeles, Deadline reported on 6 August 2026. Yul Vázquez, Cheryl Umaña, José Zúñiga and newcomer Bryanna Marie Felipe lead the cast. Marissa Chibás wrote and directed, drawing on her upbringing as the daughter of a Cuban Revolution commander and a Miss Cuba runner-up. Producers are eyeing an early-2027 festival run.
